Allegations of gang involvement led to a fight in which a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death on Sunday morning in Eau Claire.
Eau Claire Police said Bobbie Y. Vue died after being stabbed with a knife by Doua Vang, 20, of Eau Claire. Vang was arrested for first-degree intentional homicide.
Arrested for substantial battery and disorderly conduct were: Xa Xiong, 19, Kenny Vang, 17, Patchara Vue, 19, and Jacob Vue, 23. All are from Eau Claire.
“The street culture in our nation has reinforced the idea that being ‘disrespected’ must be met with confrontation and retaliation. This attitude has led to violent, tragic encounters,” Eau Claire Police Chief Jerry Matysik said.
According to police:
A large fight was reported in the hallway of an apartment building at 909 Richard Drive at 2:15 a.m. Sunday.
Doua Vang had been hosting a party when there was an disagreement. Patchara Vue left the party after becoming upset other guests alleged he was affiliated with a gang, allegations that Patchara Vue later denied while talking with police.
Patchara Vue returned to the party along with Xa Xiong, Kenny Vang, Jacob Vue and Bobby Vue to confront the people making allegations against Patchara Vue.
That led to a large fight where a knife, rocks and wooden objects were used.
Arriving police found five people injured. Bobbie Vue was taken with a stab wound to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The other four injured people were taken to hospitals where they were treated and released with what was called battery-type injuries.
